We are getting really excited now for our Shades of Shadow exhibition opening on Monday 27th October at 11am.

We challenged artists to help us turn our upstairs exhibition space into a spooky, unsettling and haunting space and they haven’t disappointed. We are busy getting everting ready for Monday and can’t wait to see you all when you visit.

It’s #free to come in and see the exhibition and watch out for pop up activities.

Come and join in a celebration of the iron willed women who maintained the 1984/85 Miners' Strike as they fought for the future of their communities.

It's the untold story of working-class women who, during the 1984–85 Miners' Strike, found themselves at the forefront of a battle against the British state. From Scotland down to Kent, women from the coalfields shed light on their experiences of the year long struggle, and how they became the backbone of the Strike. With many still active today, their actions reshaped the landscape of political activism for working-class women.

If you’re interested in joining in, you can book a class via BookWhen. Sessions are £5.00 each (pay as you go), and beginners are very welcome – if there’s anything you’d like to ask in advance, please get in touch. You can also turn up and join in on the night, but if that’s your preference, please do allow time to say a quick hello before the class begins.

A group created for people who enjoy art and craft of all kinds to come together and support each other. Some community supplies are provided but we encourage you to bring and work on whatever project you like.

Do you like playing board games, solving puzzles, building with Lego and enjoying good company.

Whether it be Monopoly, Scrabble, Catan or just a fun game of dominoes you are very welcome to join us upstairs at Consett Heart.

There's no set charge but we will have a collection pot for pay as you feel donations (as little or as much as you like) and there will be hot and cold drinks available.

Come along to our warm and friendly space from 7pm-9pm this Wednesday.
